Edward Kerrison Harvey: An Overview

The information I have about Edward Kerrison comes from the following sources:

1. Information supplied to me by Carla Woodworth Lynas and based on the 'Original Genealogical Collections, by the late Lieut. Col. Robert John Harvey of Thorpe'.  This is mentioned in a publication called 'Walter Rye, Memoir Bibliography and Catalogue of of his Norfolk Manuscripts in the Norwich Public Libraries' by Geo. A. Stephen published in 1929? by the Public Libraries Committee, Norwich.  Original documents in the Norfolk Archives.
2. His portrait.
3. The Norwich Churches website www.norwichchurches.co.uk
4. A family portrait of Edward, his wife Emma and their daughter Frances is recorded in the book 'Portraits in Norfolk Houses' by Prince Frederick Duleep Singh, Vol 2, undated but published around 1928.  Rainthorpe Hall, The Property of Sir Charles Harvey Bart, 6th August 1907.  Page 169

Edward was a JP for Norfolk and Suffolk.  He was twice Mayor of Norwich.

Portrait of Miss Montague of Jamaica and Norfolk
Miss Montague
Miss Montague appears to have been a very close family friend of Edward's parents.  She was born in Jamaica around 1794.  An item of silver left by Maj Gen Sir Robert John Harvey after his death in 1860 is a 'Cream Ewer, presented to Sir Robert by Miss Montague on his birthday 1843'.  She also appears to have commissioned some portraits of Edward and his brother John for their parents.  One of Edward's sons was named after her, Edward Montague Chevalier Harvey (1861-1933).  Later in 1871 she is recorded as staying with Edward.

If anyone can add more information about Edward I would be very pleased to hear from you.
