Portrait of Julian Branthwayt.  Painted by the portrait painter John Theodore Heins of Norfolk (1697-1756).  Half-length, in a turquoise and purple wrap, feigned oval signed and dated 'D Heins Fec:/1725' (lower right) and inscribed 'Julian Branthwayt/Ob 1765' (lower left), inscribed 'Julian Branthwayt/2nd dr of Arthur/by Ann dr of Thos/Bacon Esq./Ob:Ap.22.1765./Coel..Buried/in the aisle of Hethel church.' (on the reverse) oil on canvas 30 x 25 in. (76.2 x 63.4 cm.) In an English 17th century carved and gilded Sunderland frame.  Sold by Christies 9 March 2000 (www.christies.com).
