Miniature Portrait of an unknown Lady

Painted by the artist Gervase Spencer (1715?-1763)
Signed on the obverse GS 1744

A Lady, wearing a white chemise, her brown hair worn long.  Indistinctly signed with initials and dated on the obverse GS/ 1744, gold frame, the reverse glazed to reveal plaited hair.  Oval, 42mm high.  Bonhams 2 Sept 2008, Lot 23.
