Miniature Portrait of an unknown Gentleman

Painted by the artist Gervase Spencer (1715?-1763)

Signed on the front with the initials GS and dated 1759.  Gold slide frame with garnet-set border, hair bracelet, in fitted red leather case for S. Sheppard of 17 Hanover St.  The miniature oval 3.2cm.  Sothebys 24 July 2002, Lot 12.
