Born: 1823? at sea off the coast of Cape of Good Hope.  Died 25 August 1879 and burried St Andrew's, Cobham, Surrey, England.
Son of : Archdeacon Henry Lloyd Loring (1784-1822) and Henrietta Auroa Louisa Kindersley.
Brother of: Frances Louisa Loring (1820?-1910?)
Edward married: in Watford, 11th May 1853, Hannah-Adelaide Loring (nee Marsh, 1828-1859), daughter of Arthur Cuthbert Marsh and Ann Marsh-Caldwell.

Hannah and Henry had issue:
1. John Loring (1854-19??) who married Annetta Julia Royds, daughter of Rev Edward Royds MA.
2. Arthur Henry Loring (1855-1931) who married Norah Helen Watson (?-1945), daughter of Thomas Wright Watson.
3. Nele Loring (1857-1931) who married Mable Alice Isaac, daughter of Swinton Isacc and Elizabeth Ann Isaac.

After Hannah died, Edward married Charlotte Watson (1823-1879), in 1863, by whom he had a further 7 children.
4. Lillian Adelaide Loring (1864-1895).
5. William Loring DCM, MA (1865-1915) who married Mary Theodosia Thackeray (1871-1948).
6. Edward Martin Loring.
7. Walter Latham Loring (1868-1914) who married Violet Henrietta Marshall (1873?-1957?).
8. Ernest Kindersley Loring CB (1869-1945) who married Ottilie Maude Messel (1873-1945).
9. Charles Buxton Loring (1871-1914).
10. Henry Lloyd Loring.

Edward was a brother-in-law of Adm Sir Leopold George Heath.  He was also a cousin of Adm Sir William Loring (1813-1895) who was a colleage of Adm Sir Leopold George Heath.
